Money Train 3

It’s time for players to grab a train ticket and get aboard, but this time, the setting isn’t the Wild West, which was the case for the first two games in this series. Money Train 3 is set inside of a futuristic workshop of some kind, bringing a whole new array of colours into the mix. While the setting has dramatically changed, the user interface and features remain very similar.

Money Train 3 is brought to players by Relax Gaming, who have produced a variety of other slots and table games in the past. They are obviously known for Money Train and Money Train 2, but they also made some famous titles such as Temple Tumble Megaways and Sherlock Bones. 

This slot has a maximum possible win of 100,000x the stake size, with players being able to spin with a minimum of 0.10 per play. Money Train 3 has an RTP of 96.10% and is fully optimised for mobile devices like most slots produced by Relax Gaming. There is also the option to purchase the bonus directly, which will cost either 20x, 50x, 100x, or 500x the stake size.

There are a huge variety of symbols within Money Train 3, some of which are only available during the bonus mode. The base game includes the diamond, club, heart, and spade symbols, with 5 spades in a combination awarding 5x the stake size. Next up is a series of different bandits, represented by the colours blue, green, yellow, and red, in order of value. Landing 5 red bandits across any payline will award 20x the bet size.

From here, we take a look at the special symbols. There is a wild and scatter, both of which have the corresponding writing on them. The wild symbol can be a substitute for any other symbol to make a matching combination, while the bonus symbol, as most people would suspect, is linked to the free spins round.

Additionally, there are a handful of special symbols that will only appear during the bonus mode. The first of these is an empty space, which will display a multiple between 1x and 10x. Next is a collector, which collects all of the values currently in play. There is a sniper, which doubles the value of 3-8 different icons. A necromancer can respin 2-7 symbols while avoiding persistent icons. 

The collector-payer symbol picks 3,4, or 5 targets to collect, before applying the new figure back to those original targets. An absorber symbol assumes the value of all of the regular symbols, before removing them from the game and freeing up space on the reels. Money Train 3 also features two different types of Tommy gun symbols, one sniper and one payer. The sniper doubles the value of 2-6 symbols, and the payer adds a random multiple between 5x-100x to 3-5 existing symbols.

The final symbols are the persistent ones, meaning that they perform their action at the end of every respin. These include a collector, sniper, collector-payer, and necromancer, which have the same abilities as the standard versions. A persistent shapeshifter is also introduced, which morphs into a new special symbol after every spin. 

Money Train 3 features two different types of bonuses, both of which have been consistent throughout each game in the series. Interestingly, the two bonuses are also both based on respins. The first can happen during the base game when there is no matching combination. One of the symbols will randomly become sticky before the respins trigger. All of those specific symbols will now turn sticky when they land, with one life being awarded to the player. If this symbol doesn't drop during a spin, this round will end, and all matching combinations will be awarded.

The other feature within Money Train 3 is the main bonus, which is triggered when at least 3 of the bonus symbols land across any of the reels. If one of these bonus symbols is a persistent gold symbol, then a persistent special icon will be introduced before the first spin.  

The triggering symbols then turn into sticky icons, before the respins start. In this mode, players will have three lives, with respins continuing until all lives have been used, or the maximum possible win is hit. Every time no new symbol is introduced, the player loses a life. However, all three lives are reset if there is a hit in the subsequent round. All of the aforementioned special symbols can also randomly land in the play zone during this bonus mode.

For fans of the first two versions of Money Train, this review might be good news. This slot seems to hold up well when compared to previous variations, with Money Train 3 containing new symbols and a fresh set of visuals, too!
