For anyone who has heard about Greek Mythology, the story of Medusa is likely one that you're already familiar with. However, given the title of this release, players might be somewhat surprised to see Zeus located to the right of the board, with Medusa only appearing in symbol form. The rest of the Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa online slot is rather simple. However, an ominous soundtrack does help to immerse players in the action.

There are only two special symbols in Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa, both of which are wilds, shown as Medusa. One of them is a single 1x1 icon, while the other can appear fully stacked up to 3 rows in height. Of course, these wilds work in the same way as they do in other casino slots, with the ability to replace any standard or premium icon as part of a matching combination.

There is one bonus mode in Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa called 'Duel Spins', which can trigger when an expanded wild icon lands completely in view on reel 2, 3, or 4. A series of respins will then be awarded, with the wild moving one position to the left at the end of each one. This continues until the wild icon reaches reel 1, where a final spin will play out before the wild explodes and is removed from the board, signalling the end of the bonus round. 

Now, there are two other mechanics during this mode to mention. The first is a 2x multiplier that is attached to the fully stacked wild, which increases by 1x at the end of each spin. Any combinations that include the wild will have their potential winnings multiplied by the current value before they're awarded to the player. It's also possible to extend this round with the 'Second Life' mechanic that will activate if three smaller wild icons land on the same reel during 'Duel Spins'.

The Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa slot is a rather straightforward title in terms of mechanics, with the highlight being the 'Duel Spins' feature. Rabcat has clearly put a lot of work into the graphics, however, and the audio does help to set the tone for the rest of the game.
