Believe it or not, the Catch 22 slot is in no way related to the famous war film that was released in 1970. Instead, it's cleverly named after one of the mechanics in the game, which can see 22 different positions transforming into fixed value symbols, but more on that later. This title comes with a classic appearance, with the board sitting on the ocean bed as animated bubbles rise to the surface on either side.

Catch 22 features the royal 10, J, Q, K, and A symbols that are found in a large variety of other slots online. These are followed by an assortment of fishing-related symbols, including a life ring, a tackle box, a fishing reel, and a float. Should six of these form a matching combination, players will be awarded with 40x, 80x, 120x, or 160x their stake size, in that order. 

Special symbols are made up of various fish icons, each of which displayed a fixed value. There is also a scatter icon, shown as a boat, which can trigger the main bonus in this release. As for the wild, it's shown as a fisherman but only becomes active during the free spins mode! 

While there are a few different bonus mechanics in Catch 22, they are all linked to the free spins mode, which can trigger if three or more scatter icons appear simultaneously. Players will be awarded with a total of 10, 15, 25, or 50 free spins, depending on whether 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols triggered the round.  

Now, wild fishermen will be added to the reels during the free spins bonus, with these also acting as collect symbols. If any fish appear in view at the same time as a fisherman, they will be reeled in, and the corresponding values will be totalled up and added to the potential winnings for the round. Multiple wild icons can land simultaneously, too, with all fishermen collecting the fish separately.  

Should a fisherman symbol appear without any fish in view, a respin will be awarded. This continues until a fish icon lands on the reels, or another fisherman appears. If there are two fishermen on the board without any fish in view, the 'Catch22' feature will trigger. The 'Catch 22' feature will turn all standard and premium icons into fixed-value fish, which the fishermen then reel in. It's also worth mentioning that, sadly, this mode cannot be retriggered.
