A lot has been kept consistent from the original release, including the tumble mechanic and the symbols themselves. However, there is a change of scenery in this slot online game, with players heading inside the boat to spin the six reels. The standard symbols in Volatile Vikings 2 are different coloured runes, in the colours blue, purple, green, and orange. Next is the free spins bonus, which can be triggered if three or more scatter symbols appear across any of the reels. The same mechanics are carried forward from the base game; however, during free spins, a progressive multiplier is introduced, which will increase by 1x for every matching combination that causes a cascade. 

Finally, there is a Dream Drop Jackpot mode that can be activated randomly during the base game. The first respin will then begin, with either a crate or a dream drop symbol appearing across the reels. Crates will be destroyed, while dream drop icons will lock in place. This will continue until one of the reels is completely full of dream drop symbols before the corresponding jackpot is awarded.
