For those that have never heard of a Mochi, they are small Japanese rice cakes made with sugar, corn starch, and water. As the name suggests, the Mochimon slot revolves around these treats, which have been given faces and designed in a selection of colours. When loading up the game, players may see similarities between Mochimon and Sugar Rush, with this title essentially being a reskin. A lot of the functionality remains the same. However, an anime-style mascot has been added to the left of the board itself!
This slot was produced by Pragmatic Play, who are also responsible for the widely popular Sugar Rush title. Of course, these are not the only slots in their portfolio, with the company also releasing the likes of Pirate Golden Age, Happy Hooves, and Floating Dragon. Slot games by Pragmatic Play tend to have high-quality graphics and engaging sound effects, with Mochimon reflecting this too!
As previously mentioned, the symbols in this game are different Mochi characters. These are represented by the colours grey, orange, green, purple, blue, yellow, and pink. Should 15 or more of these form a combination, players will be awarded with 20x, 25x, 30x, 40x, 60x, 100x, or 150x their stake size, respectively.
It's important to note that symbols do not follow specific paylines in this slot. Instead, clusters of 5 or more adjacent symbols will award players with the associated potential winnings. Mochimon also has a scatter symbol that can trigger the main bonus mode, shown as a red treasure chest.
Before discussing the main bonus mode in Mochimon, there are two different mechanics to touch on. The first is the tumble mechanic, which removes matching combinations from play so that fresh symbols can drop in. Tumbles will continue until no more combinations are formed.
Multiplier spots is the other mechanic, with matching combinations creating a multiplier before being removed from the board. When the first combination is formed, all corresponding positions will be marked. If another is formed over the same square, it will transform into a 2x multiplier, doubling with every additional combination. Keep in mind, however, that this value cannot exceed 128x.
This value will multiply the potential winnings until the board resets at the end of the spin, as long as the symbols cover the marked position. Should more than one multiplier be covered, they will be added together before being applied.
Now, landing 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 scatter icons will trigger the primary bonus mode, awarding players with 10, 12, 15, 20, or 30 free spins, in that order. The bonus plays in a similar way to the base game. However, the multiplier associated with each position will not reset between spins. Again, 128x is the highest multiplier that can be active. This mode can also be retriggered if additional scatter symbols appear. If 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 land, players will be awarded with 10, 12, 15, 20, or 30 more spins.
Mochimon is a reskin of Sugar Rush, adapted to fit a Japanese theme. As a result of this, the symbols revolve around different variations of mochi, and a cartoon mascot is also introduced. Finally, the popular bonus mode remains unchanged!
