The reels in Jungle Books are drawn to an incredibly high standard, such as that players have come to expect from games by Yggdrasil. The reels are adorned with a mixture of exotic fruits, which are all differently coloured to help you tell them apart, alongside characters from the story. The orange fruit is the lowest value symbol, and this clocks in at up to 40x for 5 of these symbols on a payline. The highest paying fruit symbol is blue, and that wins you up to 100x for any combination of 5 on a payline.

The game relies on an innovative character structure, where Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera and the and more have the ability to shape both your reel layout, and the enhanced bonus features that apply. This keeps things interesting as you spin through, shifting the reels as well as the applicable bonuses for each set of spins.

The golden ‘WILD’ symbol acts as the wild in Jungle Books, which helps sub in place of any individual symbol you are missing to complete a payline. Note that there are no bonus symbols as such – but that doesn’t mean there aren’t specific bonus features. Instead, these are triggered during main reels game play, with no need to land any combination of scatter symbols to trigger these features.

There are 5 reels in Jungle Books, but they are far from static. As the game moves through different hosts and guests, the reel positions shift around, creating a situation where the total number of paylines is constantly in flux. They range from 58-68, depending on the structure and layout of the reels at any one time, and combinations of fruit symbols are paid when they fall on the paylines according to their values indicated on the paytable.

Bets range from £0.50 per spin, right up to £100.00 per spin for those looking to play on a bigger budget. This is played with an RTP that tops 96.10%, representing a slim house edge compared to some other slots.

Bonuses & Jackpots

As we’ve already discovered, the bonus features in Jungle Books are not triggered by landing a certain numbers of bonus symbols. Instead, these bonuses happen as you spin through the game, influenced by the host and guest characters in play at any one time. You’ll know these characters from the story when they appear on your reels, with the host determining the venue and reel layout of your game, and the guest applying additional bonus features to each spin.

The various host realms apply game formats, starting with the Bear. Here, you’ll find the central reel is 4 high, with a stacked symbol on reel 3. There’s also a picking prize bonus, triggered when you land any honeycombe symbol on the third reel.

The Tiger uses the same reel format, but any wins trigger a free respin. During the free respin, the winning symbols and any wild symbols are locked in place, which can be another useful feature for bonus wins. There’s also the added sweetener of stacked wilds on the central reel.

Mowgli uses the same reel structure again, but this time, either the first and second, or the third and fourth reels are synced on the same symbols. Wild symbols also spread in this realm, creating additional wilds in up to 2 more positions on the board

Bagheera the panther is next, and this time, all of the internal reels are just 3 high. The outer reels, 1 and 5, have become 4 high, and there’s an additional wild introduced to the game, in the form of the golden fruit. You can also pick up an additional multiplier of 2x-5x in this round.

Finally, there’s the snake realm, where the outer reels are three high, and the three inner reels extend to 4 high columns. Wins pay both ways in this realm, and are always subject to a flat 3x multiplier.

When guests appear to the right hand side of the reels, they can also trigger additional bonuses, depending on their features.
