Things are getting a little groovy on the reels these days, especially with one of the latest online slot games from Gameburger Studios called Hyper Gold. Some genuine similarities could have been taken from other games and given a polish up. Still, whichever way you look at it there’s plenty of winning chances to be had, and it’s all thanks to a selection of bonus features that can trigger at any time. Among these are free spins, generous jackpots and a feature that has been tossed between many online casino games that came before it. We’ll discuss this and everything else in our latest review.
Our casino site hasn’t seen too many casino games come out of the Gameburger Studios stable, and this is probably because it’s actually a very young entity. It also happens to be a sub-studio of the well-known powerhouse Microgaming, which is why the production value isn’t bad at all. Looking back, the only other slots title we’ve reviewed by this house is Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar. With Hyper Gold, it’s difficult to tell exactly what theme was chosen as it’s just a disco vibe using casino chips with the use of gold. Not really the most original, but the graphic design is very respectable, especially when using iOS or Android mobile devices. You can also get spinning on tablet and desktop for equally great experiences.
Hyper Gold isn’t one of those slots games that makes you fight for everything you win. In fact, there are actually quite a few elements that make it much easier on the wallet than some other slot machines online we’ve been seeing lately. The minimum bet is only 10p per spin, with the maximum bet sitting at £20. Hardly the maximum bet of £200 that titles are incorporating lately. There’s also 3×3 size symbols that can land at points in the game, which also really help. There is a higher-than-usual volatility, but this just means wins carry a higher value.
Given the fundamental theme of Hyper Gold there isn’t anything about the symbols to take note of. Gameburger Studios has gone with a simple/traditional symbol selection that most players prefer to not find it difficult to tell the value of symbols apart. An excellent example of this in Hyper Gold is the lower-paying icons, being playing card royals J, Q, K and A – very easy to identify as lower-paying symbols. The higher paying symbols are all gold themed and consist of gold coins, gold coins and a gold bar, gold bars and gold $s. The gold $s is the highest paying of the regular icons.
The highest paying symbol of all for 3, 4 and 5 of a kind wins is the wild. This one also has the added value of acting as any regular symbol in Hyper Gold to help make up winning combinations. The only symbols the wild can’t substitute is the scatter and the Link&Win symbol.
If you land between 6 and 14 Link&Win icons on the same spin, you’ll have triggered the Link&Win feature. All regular symbols will be removed, and all Link&Win symbols will remain sticky. You’ll then be given three respins. If a Link&Win symbol/s lands on any respin, they stay sticky on the reels and the respins are reset to 3. The feature ends when all windows are filled with symbols, or the respins simply end. This feature is where different jackpots can be awarded: Mini; Minor; Major; Mega. The Mega is awarded if the screen is filled with 15 cash symbols.
Landing 3 scatters on the same spin will give you ten free spins. For this feature, the middle three reels will combine that sees 3×3 mega blocks land. If a scatter lands as a mega block, then another ten free spins are awarded.
There’s actually more that can help you out in Hyper Gold, such as multipliers added to wins in free spins and something called Win Booster, which you select to play with at higher bets to see extra Link&Win icons fall on the reels. You can play online slots to better understand how all these bonus features work, but the only problem with that is that the cash you’ll win isn’t real. And believe us when we say this is a slot that can pay epic sums.
