Fish 'Em Up

As soon as most players see a fishing game, they can already predict most of the included mechanics. While all of the popular features remain in the Fish 'Em Up slot, there are some more unique aspects to keep things fresh for punters. This title is set at the bottom of the ocean, with an animated crab and fisherman appearing on the left of the screen. The background music is rather basic in this title. However, there are a series of sound effects that are linked to different outcomes. 

This slot was created by Snowborn Games, a provider that covers every aspect of a title before making it public. A selection of features and appealing visuals are seemingly the two focus points for the company, with previous releases such as Peaky Pigs, Cats of the Caribbean, and Pile 'Em Up only confirming this further. 

For online slots players, the standard symbols in this title will likely come as no surprise. That's right, the J, Q, K, and A icons all make an appearance in Fish 'Em Up, awarding players with up to 3.75x their stake size. Premiums are up next, shown as a float, a green lure, a purple lure, and a reel. Should five of these form a matching combination, 13x, 13x, 15x, or 15x the bet will be awarded to the player, respectively.  

Now, let's take a look at the special symbols, of which there are quite a few. First up are the fixed-value fish that can display 0.2x to 50x the stake size on them. There is also a special fish with the words '1 up' on it and a fisherman, both having their own corresponding bonus features. Scatter icons in this release are shown as ships, while the wild icon is displayed as a tackle box. Like in other slots online, wilds can replace standard or premium symbols to create a combination. Finally, there is an assortment of different trophies that are linked to the four jackpots. 

Of course, as this is a fishing-inspired release, a collect mechanic is present. Should a fisherman appear on reel 5, all fixed value symbols in view will be reeled in. They will then be totalled up and awarded to the player! 

Fish 'Em Up also comes with a 'Catch Booster' meter that can be seen at the top of the screen. Should a 1UP fish appear, the booster will be increased by 1x, with the maximum sitting at 10x. When the collect mechanic is triggered, the current multiplier will be applied to the potential winnings before resetting to 1x again. 

Landing three boat scatter icons simultaneously on reels 1, 3, and 5 will trigger the main bonus in this release, awarding a total of 10 free spins. To start, more fixed-value fish and collect symbols are thrown into the mix, while the 'Cash Booster' does not reset throughout the round, either. It's also worth mentioning that if the meter reaches 4x, 7x, or 10x, an additional five free spins will be awarded. 

Finally, shells can appear on top of any symbol during the base game. These are stashed away in the treasure chest on the left whenever they appear, and if enough are collected, the respin mode will trigger. Players are taken to a new board where only fixed-value fish and jackpot trophies can appear, before being awarded with three spins. If fixed value fish land, their corresponding values will be awarded to the player, they will become sticky, and the number of spins will reset to three.  

Should a jackpot trophy appear, progress will be added to the relevant meter at the top of the screen. Collecting three of the same trophies will award the corresponding potential winnings. In total, there is a Mini, Midi, Maxi, and Mega jackpot, sitting at 30x, 100x, 500x, or 5,000x the stake size, respectively. Jackpot trophies do not become sticky, although they do reset the spin count. Players will also be awarded with the maxi jackpot, should all positions on the board be filled. 

It's perhaps no secret that standing out against the sea of other fishing-related casino slots can be a tough task. Snowborn has managed to achieve this, however, by introducing a variety of new mechanics, while also keeping the title easy on the eye!
