So, what exactly should players look out for in Astronaut? After selecting a stake size and spinning, a red or green crystal will appear in the middle. As shown on either side of the screen, green crystals will see players increase their potential winnings. Red crystals, on the other hand, will see the round end immediately.  

Should a green crystal appear during the first spin, players will have the chance to collect, take half, or continue. Collect will award the potential winnings, while take half will award 50% of the winnings, leaving the other 50% to wager on the next outcome. Finally, selecting continue will wager all potential winnings on the next spin.  

As more green crystals are found, the chances of another one appearing are reduced. This is reflected on the chart at the top of the board, which shows the likelihood of each outcome as accurately as possible. 

Now, there is one more outcome that can be displayed when spinning Astronaut. This is the golden shield, which offers a mini bonus mode, alongside a modifier. The bonus mode involves the shield protecting players from one red crystal, so the game will spin automatically until one is found. When a red crystal appears, the golden shield will be depleted, and players will have to manually make their next decision. 

Furthermore, the golden shield will increase all other values on the screen after it has been used. For example, without the golden shield, the maximum potential winnings within Astronaut sit at 18,000x the stake size. Alternatively, if all green crystals are found, and the golden shield has been used at some point during the round, players will be awarded with 48,000x the bet. Of course, not all values are increased by the same amount, and only one golden shield can be found during each play.

It's clear that Red Tiger Gaming was looking to do something a little different with the release of Astronaut, which they certainly achieved. The fast-paced gameplay is incredibly immersive, while also being relatively straightforward. Not all online casino games that follow this style allow players to collect half of their stake after a successful spin either!
