The standard symbols in Mega Gorilla include the 10, J, Q, K, and A icons that appear in many online slots. Although these symbols are the least desirable, landing five aces across the same payline can still award 100x the bet. Premium symbols are focused on different animals, with a parrot, hippo, rhino, and gorilla all being included. If 5 of these form a matching combination, players will be awarded with 140x, 150x, 160x, or 175x the stake size, respectively. Keep in mind that all potential winnings are based on the bet per line, which is the total stake divided by 20.

Mega Gorilla also contains two different special symbols. The first one is a wild that can replace any standard or premium symbol along a payline in order to create a combination. Mega Gorilla comes with two different bonus modes that can be triggered in the same way. Landing three scatter symbols on reels 2, 3, and 4 will trigger the 'Spin Picker' mechanic, where players will choose which variation of the bonus is awarded. Three identical symbols will appear on the screen, 2 of which will award the regular free spins mode. The other outcome is more desirable and is known as mega spins. Of course, the selection is totally random, and there is no way of knowing which symbol will reveal the mega spins mode.  

In the regular bonus mode, players will begin the round with seven free spins, and the least desirable symbol will be removed from play. The mega variation will also award players with seven spins. However, only the premium animal symbols will be active. During both modes, the number of remaining spins will be shown at the top of the screen.
