Release The Kraken

At the bottom of the sea lies a shipwreck surrounded by fish, turtles, and of course, a Kraken. For those that don't know what a Kraken is, they're legendary marine animals that, according to myths, are responsible for destroying entire ships. Upon loading up the Release the Kraken slot game online, immersive music will begin to play, and animated bubbles will appear near the spin button. Should five of these form a matching combination, players will be awarded with 5x, 7.5x, 10x, 12.5x, or 25x their stake size, respectively. 


This slot also comes with a total of 4 different special symbols. First up are wilds, shown as a collection of bubbles, or a Kraken during select bonus modes. These can replace any standard or premium symbols in order to form a matching combination. Release the Kraken also has three different scatter symbols, featuring the words 'Bonus', 'Free Spins', and 'Chest Bonus'. The first bonus feature in Release the Kraken is a range of spin modifiers. At random, three tentacles holding a sign can appear on the screen. Players will then be prompted to select one, revealing a modifier that will be applied to the upcoming spin. 'Kraken Locking Wilds' is the name of one modifier, which begins by adding wilds to the reels.  


Three chests will then be shown, and when one is selected, it will either reveal 'Continue', 'More Wilds', 'Continue Spinning', 'More Wilds and Collect', 'All Wins x2 and Collect', or simply 'Collect'. After each ability is applied, players can continue picking chests until one of the 'Collect' variations is found. When this happens, the wilds will remain locked in place before a single spin is awarded!


Next up is the 'Colossal Kraken Wild' modifier. As the name suggests, this will add a giant wild to the board, that will accompany 3 reels and 4 rows. It may not appear completely in view but is guaranteed to fill at least three positions. Finally, the 'Infectious Kraken Wild' modifier will add a single wild to the reel. This will spread to all adjacent symbols, transforming them into wilds, too.


Should players land bonus symbols on reels 1 and 3, alongside a chest scatter icon on reel 5, the 'Sunken Treasure' bonus will trigger. Three different chests will appear on the screen, all of which will contain either a fixed value or a 'collect' icon. Players can keep picking chests until the 'collect' symbol is found, at which point the potential winnings for the round will be awarded.


Release the Kraken also comes with a free spins mode, which can be triggered if a bonus symbol appears on reels 1 and 3, with a free spins scatter on reel 5. Again, players are presented with 3 chests, with a number of spins, or the word 'Collect' within them. Chests can then be selected, and when the 'Collect' icon is found, the total number of accumulated spins will be awarded.


During this bonus mode, a total of 40 paylines will become active, as opposed to the 20 found in the base game. Wild symbols will also remain on the reels if they land, roaming around the board between each spin. Each wild icon will also increase the win multiplier by 1x, which is applied to all matching combinations.
