Boat Bonanza has two bonus features. The first is based on a popular mechanic that is a common sight in most fishing slots. It is the collect feature and there are two different versions of it in play. Boats can position themselves randomly across any reel; they will be grey or red.  

Grey boats will not catch anything because they are inactive. However, red boats will collect things on the reels. There is also another variation of this mechanic, if two boats land on the same reel then it will be activated. At this point, all collect symbols will be grouped together, totalled up, and awarded to the players.

The free spins feature is the primary bonus mode, it is triggered when either 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols land across the reels. Players can receive 10, 15, or 20 free spins, it is dependent on the number of icons that triggered this bonus. This mode plays in a similar way to the base game. But the difference is that the boats that collect fish can feature random multipliers. If this boat reels in a fish, the multiplier is applied to the potential winnings.

Another favourited mechanic makes an appearance when fish symbols are collected - it’s the respin feature. The symbols collected before will become sticky, and regular paylines will be removed for as long as the respin feature is in play. Only collect symbols can drop into the play zone, when this happens. 

Any time one of these icons is collected, an additional respin will be awarded this will continue until no fresh symbols drop. The collected symbols will then be added together and awarded. During the respin mode, no free spins will be deducted, apart from the original triggering spin.
