Xbox One: Top 3 Casino Games

Casino games have been popular for hundreds of years, from the parlours of 17th century France to online casino games available to play on high-tech laptops and games consoles of today. Whether it’s a specific game of one type or another, or a casino game that covers the full gamut of the casino experience, the gambling genre is incredibly engaging – whether you’re playing for real money, or solely pride.

Just like Nintendo with casino games featuring in Mario Bros titles, the Xbox One is no stranger to a gambling game, and there have been some incredible examples of the genre in action. While console developers haven’t yet been able to create real money gambling games, instead choosing to leave that casino industry operators, they’ve still produced titles with some compelling casino action.

We’ve put together our list of the top 3 casino games for Xbox One – games that demonstrate how good modern casino console games can be.

The Four Kings Casino & Slots

Four Kings is like a virtual casino, offering players the chance to take part in a full range of casino games. You adopt an avatar, and join other players from around the world in networked games, within a virtual casino environment. It’s almost like an MMO, except with a particular casino twist. Players can take part in a number of different casino games, like blackjack, roulette, slots and even bingo – whatever takes your fancy.

The Four Kings takes concepts from the world of real-money gambling, and builds a highly social, enjoyable game from the ground up. The graphics and gameplay are impressive enough, and while it still lacks something compared to the cutting edge of real money gambling games, it’s a more than worthy entrant on our list. Available for both the Xbox One and the PS4, The Four Kings Casino & Slots from Digital Leisure Inc. is a game you should definitely check out further.

Pure Hold’Em

Pure Pool has become something of a modern classic for the Xbox One, giving players the chance to enjoy realistic pool action in 3D from the home console. Now, the creators of Pure Pool have stepped up to create Pure Hold’Em, an equivalent game for fans of Texas Hold’em. Developed by the team at VooFoo Studios, the game allows for tournaments of up to 8 players, as well as holding support for online multiplayer gaming.

As the name suggests, there isn’t much more to this game than pure Texas Hold’em action, so you won’t find the same run of different casino games as you would expect from The Four Kings, for example. However, with stunning graphics, enjoyable gameplay, and the option to play with friends or strangers online, there’s more than enough in Pure Hold’Em to make this a game you’ll want to play again and again.

Securing a Metacritic rating of 73, it’s fair to say the game has been a commercial, as well as critical success for the company. It stands as another good example of what can be done with gambling-based games, and comes with a strong recommendation for any poker fan.

Prominence Poker

Prominence Poker is another poker-based gambling title for the Xbox One, straight from the mind of the team at 505 Studios. According to some critics, this is one of the best examples of a poker game for the Xbox One, and combines excellent graphics with gameplay that is as close to the real thing as you can get. You won’t find multiple different casino games here – this is very much a poker title. However, the gambling action it offers up is incredibly enjoyable, whether you’re playing against the AI or against other human players.

Another critically acclaimed gambling title, Prominence Poker is a rival for Pure Hold’Em, and in some respects goes a bit further in its offering. However, it’s well worth taking the time to try both games, as there are definitely some areas of common appeal, as well as areas where one outshines the other.

This top 3 is a non-exhaustive list of gambling titles for Xbox One, and in reality, there are countless different games that fit the bill. For those that enjoy gambling action, even when there’s no money at stake, this means there’s never been a better time to fire up your console and get the casino play underway.
