Slingshot Roulette

Slingshot Roulette Review

Playtech have launched another version of roulette, this time called Slingshot Roulette, which has been hugely popular. A real-life wheel, but without a casino host, it was an original concept when it launched. The game is named after the wheel which is used, the Cammegh Slingshot2; there are no actual slingshots involved!

With a small house edge, standard rules and an easy-to-use interface, Slingshot Roulette has been a huge hit. Here’s what you need to know.

How to Play Slingshot Roulette

Slingshot roulette is a type of online roulette and is played in the same way. That means the roulette wheel has a single zero pocket, unlike American Roulette, but En Prison and La Partage’s French rules don’t apply. The roulette wheel numbers are the same as European Roulette, so if you’ve played before, you’ll be able to start right away.

Although it’s an online game, Slingshot Roulette isn’t a digital rendering of a casino wheel. It is a physical wheel that’s spun to play the game. This means you don’t need to worry about random number generators being used and how these are monitored for fairness.

However, although it’s a real roulette wheel, there is no host. This sets it apart from many other types of Live Roulette. The wheel is spun automatically at predetermined intervals using a computer and air jets to launch the ball. It means you have to play at the pace the game is set at, just like Live Roulette. If you prefer a fast-paced game of Roulette where you can spin the wheel as quickly as you want, this probably isn’t the best option.

The lights on the board show when you can place your bets, and after each spin, the wheel is automatically reset. The whole process is managed mechanically without any physical human intervention.

If you like Live Roulette’s idea but don’t enjoy the interaction or chatter that comes with a host, Slingshot Roulette is the ideal fusion of the two.

What’s Different About Slingshot Roulette

Slingshot Roulette is similar to standard European Roulette in many ways and follows the same rules. However, the features which make it unique are:

  • The roulette wheel is real, not a simulation – but has no host
  • Play is managed automatically, with the wheel being spun at preset intervals
  • A traffic light sequence of lights lets players know how long they have left to place their bet
  • Depending on the casino, betting is usually offered at lower amounts
  • The roulette wheel is streamed live from a casino with added computer graphics

Slingshot Roulette Prizes

The prizes that you could win on Slingshot Roulette depend on the stake you bet. One of the advantages of this type of Roulette is that many casinos allow a very low starting bet. A typical range would be 0.10 to 4000.00, but you may be permitted to bet higher if you’re a member of a VIP club.

As well as the stake, the other factor is the type of bet you place. Roulette allows players to place many different types of bet, and all have different odds. A wager which is easier to win, such as high/low or red/black, will have lower odds, 1:1. If you’re trying to guess a single number, a bet known as a straight-up, the odds are much higher, 35:1, because it’s tough to win.

The top prize on the Slingshot Roulette is the 35:1, but there is a sliding scale of different bets, such as split 17:1, street 11:1, corners 8:1, line 5:1 and the outside bets, which are 1:1.

What Are the Chances of Winning?

Slingshot Roulette is based on European Roulette, and your chances of winning are exactly the same. Without the advantageous La Partage rules, your odds won’t be relatively as high as French Roulette. However, they will still be preferable to American Roulette due to its double-zero pockets.

The volatility has to be factored in. This would depend greatly on the bet you place. If you go for a low-risk bet such as red/black, the volatility is much lower and the chances of a payout higher. However, with a low volatility bet, the odds are much lower, typically 1:1. It means you would have to win many times to match the payout for a much harder bet. Placing a straight-up bet on a single number is high volatility, but the payout is higher 35:1. In this example, you would have to win 35 times on a low volatility bet to match a single payout for the high volatility play.

Strategies

It’s essential to understand how far your budget will stretch. No-one should ever bet with more money than they can afford to lose. Knowing your limits and sticking to them will enable you to plan a much more effective strategy.

For example, if you have a low budget, you could wipe out your account waiting for a single high volatility play to come in. In contrast, low volatility bets could give you regular, smaller wins to keep your account ticking over and maybe even in profit.

Is Slingshot Roulette Legit?

Slingshot Roulette is a game that’s been developed by one of the most trusted names in the industry, Playtech. If you’re looking for reassurance, the fact that it has been licensed and regulated by three of the most stringent gambling authorities should allow you to be confident. These three bodies are the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.

As Slingshot Roulette is played on a physical roulette wheel just like the brand new mega fire blaze roulette, you don’t need to be concerned about the fairness of the random number generator and how its use is monitored. As a physical ball and wheel are used and spun while you watch, there are fewer opportunities for unfair manipulation.

However, it’s crucial to check the casino that you are playing at. If you play at a casino which isn’t regulated and licensed by one of these three bodies, you are risking your data security, and there’s a chance you might not receive your money.

A properly licensed casino has to adhere to high standards set down by the regulator and subject to high scrutiny levels. Failing to live up to acceptable standards of conduct could result in hefty fines or the loss of their licence, so it’s in their interests to treat customers fairly.
