House of Doom 2: The Crypt Slot Review

Love heavy metal? Love horror? Then you’ll be a big fan of House of Doom 2: The Crypt Slot. Created by Play’n GO, this online slot is dark and brooding while being filled with Gothic-style imagery. If you want your blood to curdle and your spine to tingle in the most delicious way, this is the game for you. With a heavy metal soundtrack completing the mood, you’ll be playing for a top payout of x6000.

House of Doom 2: The Crypt slot

As the title suggests, this isn’t the first in this series from developer Play’n GO. The original House of Doom was also a dark and foreboding game, and its authentic horror design made it a huge hit. This second instalment is bigger and better but sticks to the same fundamentals that were so popular in the original. The House of Doom series isn’t the first foray into the darker side for Play’n GO. Annihilator was another big hit, a slot based on a Canadian heavy metal band from the 1980s. You can find every type of slot machine available online at PartyCasino, from the light and fluffy themes to a chilling horror adventure!

There are five reels filled with spooky symbols in this slot, which are set out in the standard 5×3 grid. The min bet is 0.20 and rises to 100.00 for the max bet, providing plenty for low and high rollers alike. Volatility is reasonably high, so you’ll need nerves of steel to be able to stick it out in the house of horror while you wait for that top prize of x6000 to come rolling in.

Feature Symbols

House of Doom 2: The Crypt feature symbols

The gameplay takes place in a crypt, with all the ghoulish scenery you can expect. The Gothic styling is complemented by the heavy metal soundtrack, based on the 1980s heavy metal rockers, Candlemass. The original game was inspired by one of their songs, House of Doom, and this slot continues where the last one left off.

The low pays on the reels are the card symbols, but stylised to match the theme and coloured red, they almost look to be dripping with blood. The premium symbols offer a little bit more with a spiked skull, flickering candles, daggers and more. For the premium pays, you’ll get a win of x25 if you manage to match five.

In such a terrifying setting, it would be mean not to get a little help and Play’n GO oblige. There are no fewer than four different wilds to help make matches, but many of them have extra functions – which we’ll look at next.

Bonuses and Jackpots

House of Doom 2: The Crypt bonus

While you’re playing the base game, keep your eyes open for a Spirit Gate to materialise on any of the reels. If the reel chosen contains wilds, the wild will expand and also triggers a respin. During the respin, you’ll receive one of these modifiers:

  • Metal Priestess – all relic symbols are transformed into the highest value skull symbol
  • Fire Mistress – gives you a random multiplier of between x2 and x10
  • Queen of the Damned – places Spirit Games on all reels in the respin

If you land three scatters, represented by the crypt, you’ll win free spins. During this bonus round, you can have more than one Spirit Gate per spin, which increases the chance of receiving multiple modifiers (as described above).

When you land a scatter during an active Spirit Gate, it will be transformed to a Flaming Crypt scatter. If you land three Flaming Crypt scatters, you’ll then play the Crypt Spins, giving your eight free spins.

As a final bonus, if you see a Spirit of Unity wild during an active Spirit Gate, you’ll receive a special respin. During this respin, all of the Spirit Gate features are activated.
