Desert Time in Sin City: From Crepes to Cupcakes

When it comes to Las Vegas, most people only think of two things: Gambling and Theater, but there is so much when it comes to visiting Sin City. Now don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a little spot of gambling or a night out at the shows, but we’re all about the food here, so let’s get right down to it.

Crepe Expectations

9500 S Eastern Avenue #180 is home to one of the highest-rated creperies (and dessert shacks) in Las Vegas. Jointly owned by Lou and Jenn Remillard, with Lou infamous from his time on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and of course, Guy’s Grocery Games. Serving up a selection of both savoury and sweet crepes, this is one to visit should you ever find yourself in need of just a sweet bite to eat, or in need of a recovery session after a long night on the strip.

Sin City Cupcakes

6380 S Valley View Blvd. Ste 242 is our next location, and where we can find some of the best cupcakes that Las Vegas has to offer. With outfits in both Texas and Vegas, you can find some of the best alcoholic or non-alcoholic cupcakes around, with gluten-free, dairy-free, customised and all other sorts of wonderful options catered for. While these may not be the recipe required for coming off an all-nighter, their alcohol infused versions may be great for a hair of the dog treatment if you need.

Garrett Popcorn Shops

With multiple locations around Vegas, having started out over 70 years ago in Chicago, Illinois, it won’t be hard to find an excuse to get popping with all the flavours these guys have to offer. From the savoury side of buffalo ranch and cheese, through to the caramel crisp sweetness that most of you have learnt to love, their selection of popcorn has recently been bolstered by a partnership with Frango chocolates, meaning you can grab both from the same location (or even mix them up to have a super sweet delight)!

Cheesecake Factory

With over 200 locations around America and a turnover of over $2bn, it would be criminal not to include the ever-famous heart of cheesecakes in our list. Their facebook page alone boasts just shy of 5 million followers and you can grab anything from a slice of cheesecake to a whole 6-inch one for just $20. While they don’t stop at just desserts, offering full meals and lots of different snacks, their most well-known (of course) for their phenomenal cheesecakes where Oreo Dream, Key Lime Pie and Hershey’s chocolate bar versions are always popular.

The Bellagio Patisserie

Situated on the strip, yet not a restaurant like our other choices, this had to have a place on our list as they held the Guinness Book of Records trophy for the largest chocolate fountain! A 27-foot fountain pumped by six individual pumps, flow over 4,000 pounds of Dark, Milk and White chocolate for your amusement, not to mention their crepes, desserts and cakes aren’t half bad either. A must-see for anyone visiting Sin City, this is a sight for sweet eyes.

So there you have it, outside the casinos and the glitz and glamour of Vegas’ mainstay attractions – you can enjoy some of the best desserts that LV has to offer and one of the greatest spectacles ever to be seen. Of course, we still think that we have some of the best Vegas slots to rival their attractions, but we're happy to take a bow when it comes to the desserts.
