Just when players started to think that there were enough Buffalo slots available to date, ELK Studios stepped in to remind us that, actually, this is perhaps one of the most appealing themes to play. Buffalo Toro is set in the middle of a Spanish desert, with different wild animals making an appearance throughout each round.
Buffalo Toro was produced by ELK Studios, a provider that has created a series of similar slots in the past. This series was known as Wild Toro and featured a sequel to the original, simply called Wild Toro II. However, this provider also has a range of other popular titles to their name, including The Grand Galore and Zulu Gold.
The game features six reels, with a total of 4,096 fixed paylines. This means that all paylines are automatically covered. Players can spin using a minimum of 0.20 per round, with the maximum potential win being 50,000x the stake size.
Now, one thing that makes Buffalo Toro stand out from the crowd of similar slots, is the vast number of symbols that are present. The lowest symbols include the standard playing card values 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A, with 6 Aces awarding 1.6x the stake size. Next up, there is a bear, wolf, mountain lion, and eagle, with the last two symbols awarding 3x the bet size when 6 match.
The top symbol is a bull, which awards a maximum potential win of 6x. There are also three different types of wild symbols, a multiplier icon and finally, gold coin scatter symbols, which can potentially award the main bonus.
There are three different bonuses within Buffalo Toro. The first involves two or more Matadors landing in the play zone. If this happens, they will lock in place and trigger a respin. This will continue until no fresh Matadors land, with regular matches still being awarded along the way. Keep in mind that during this mode, Matadors do not act as wilds.
Speaking of wilds, the next bonus is known as ‘Walking Wilds’. When the Toro wild drops, it will move to the reel on the left after every spin, until eventually, it disappears from the slot. All matches during this time will be awarded to the player. If the Toro lands at the same time as Matador, then the bull will follow the Matador, leaving a trail of wilds in his wake.
The third and final bonus is the main one within the game, triggered when 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters land across the reels. Three scatters will award eight free spins, with 4, 5, and 6 scatters awarding 12, 16, and 20 free spins, respectively. During the bonus, golden buffalos may appear, before they turn into regular variants. Every time 3 of these land, the lowest premium symbol will also transform into a buffalo. This can happen a maximum of 4 times if 12 golden buffalos are collected.
Additional spins can be added during this mode, too, with two scatter symbols awarding another four spins. If three or more scatters drop across the reels, the original number of free spins will be added.
Players can also trigger a super bonus, which will happen if one of the scatters that activate the bonus is the super variant. Should this happen, reels full of Buffalos can potentially land. Collecting 3, 6, 9, or 12 golden buffalos can lead to 2, 3, 4, or 5 reels full of the top symbol.
For anyone that is fond of the sun and serenity of Spain, Buffalo Toro could be their next favourite slot. This game is loaded with exciting features, alongside a huge variety of different symbols to look out for!
